Michael Moore s’attaque à la folie sécuritaire qui touche les Etats-Unis. À partir du carnage du Columbine High School, où 16 élèves furent abattus par deux adolescents en 1999, Michael Moore tente de comprendre pourquoi 11 000 personnes par an meurent par arme à feu aux Etats-Unis. L’influence des médias pourvoyeurs de violence, les politiques gouvernementales fondées sur la peur et l’histoire même d’un pays qui s’est construit sur la crainte de l’étranger sont, selon Moore, plus à blâmer que l’incroyable accessibilité des armes.
