De sa liaison complexe avec son mentor et mari, le peintre Diego Rivera, à sa liaison illicite et controversée avec Léon Trotsky, en passant par ses romances lesbiennes provocatrices, Frida Khalo a vécu une vie sans compromis comme révolutionnaire politique, artistique et sexuelle. Née en même temps que la révolution zapatiste, cette femme déterminée et farouchement indépendante malgré la maladie et le handicap a marqué de sa personnalité la vie artistique du Mexique.

In a portrait that hovers between fact and fiction, André Luc outlines the stormy life of Frida Kahlo, the emblematic figure of Mexican painting. From her complex relationship with her mentor and husband, the painter Diego Rivera, to her illicit and controversial affair with Leon Trotsky, and her provocative lesbian romances, Frida Kahlo lived an uncompromising life as a political, artistic and sexual revolutionary. Born at the time of the Zapatista revolution, this remarkable woman, determined and unflinchingly independent in spite of illness and handicap, impressed her personality on the artistic life of Mexico.
